A resource room is a special education classroom, where students with disabilities receive direct, specialized instruction. This instruction occurs in small groups or one on one.
In resource we work to close the "gaps" to help a student move towards and be on grade level.
We focus on the academic areas of reading, writing and math. What is great about resource, is that we have the flexibility to work on a specific goal or concept as long as a student needs it.
Students are usually pulled out of the classroom for 30 minutes a day; sometimes more if needed. However, they are not pulled out during critical instructional time blocks or during specials.
